Wood Valentine Craft
This DIY wood valentine craft is super easy to complete and even more so if you already have a white frame it will only take 10 minutes. Its designed to be pretty and valentine themed but by staying away from reds it can be used in Spring decor, or in a little one’s bedroom as well.
If you already have a frame this craft only takes about ten minutes. You will need a pre-cut heart from Michaels or the dollar store. I got this one with my 40% off coupon for $4.50 in Canada at Michael’s.

1 wood heart
white chalk paint[/wc_column] [wc_column size=”one-half” position=”last”]
large open frame[/wc_column] [/wc_row]
I recently found a large frame at an auction for $10. I removed everything but the frame and hanging hardware washed it and applied three coats of white chalk paint. Nothing exciting, but I am really glad to have one.
Paint the Heart
For the heart paint the white stripes using a small artists brush. I did not use tape but cut the edges using the brush instead. Let dry.
Once dry apply two coats of wax.
Lay the frame down onto a flat surface, wrap the ribbon around the burlap on the heart and around the frame. Tie into a pretty bow.
This little heart and the banner are all the Halloween decor I am making this year. I do really love the blush colours that are so traditional for Valentines and could have them up year round if I lived on my own.
I would love to hear what your Valentine celebrations consist of. Do you do anything really special?
Hope your week’s a good one!
