Happy New Year Everyone!

Christmas is over and it wasn’t nearly as quiet as I expected it to be. Where does the time go?  The family gathered early this year then everyone returned to work.  I was really looking forward to some quiet time to study.  It took no time for Christmas week to pass by.  Guess how much studying I got finished?  I dare you lol.

Here is a roundup of some of the favorite posts from 2016.  I started the blog in May and am startled to see how many projects I completed in the seven months.    I am happy to say my photography and set up has improved over the months, as has the realization that I needed both landscape and vertical photographs.  You will see what I am referring to in the videos.

Favorite Baking Posts

I found that my readers like my family enjoy my pie recipes, you especially liked the Peanut Brittle Pie recipe.  Check out the video, I have included links to your favorite baking recipes below.

Favorite DIY Craft Posts

As Christmas is just over I did not include any Christmas posts in the highlights.  My all time most popular post was the Christmas Home tour post.  This video includes the other favorite DIY posts.  I am especially proud of the Farmhouse Teacloth post, as it was my very first link party feature.  Watch the video and let me know if you remember any of these crafting posts.

Favorite Faerie Posts

The faerie posts are a little bit different than my regular genre of topics.  I felt they deserved their own category of favorites.  I hope you enjoy the whimsical nature of what I design with faeries in mind.

Compiling the simple videos expanded my technical skills a little bit but I think it was worth the effort.  I think its a little more fun than a long post of pictures and it allowed me to showcase a few more of last years highlights.  Last year was a challenge for me and my infantile blog, but having this blog and making all the new connections was the best part my year.  Thank you to each and every reader who followed me along my journey.  All the best for 2017.  I am excited to get started.

    1. Hi Kristine: Happy New Years to you and your family. Thank you for stopping by. While putting this post together it really surprised me how many posts and projects get completed every year.

All the best for 2017!! Leanna

    1. Hi Katrin: The faerie crowns are really simple and inexpensive to put together. I love the tutus for the girls play trunk but the amount of tulle they used to make them full and thick was astounding.

Thank you for commenting. Happy New Year to you and your family. I am just starting to drag myself away from quiet studying.

      All the best girl!!! Leanna

  1. I visited the Tea Cloth towel post and love that even I (beginner crochet-er) could make pretty edges on my towels. I think I may give it a try, they are so pretty.
I also just got some galvanized tin pieces for my kitchen/dining area, so I look forward to seeing how you decorate with yours for inspiration. #HomeMattersParty

    1. Hi Nicole: If your very new to crocheting use a thicker crochet cotton, its makes it a bit easier to see. The pattern is used for these tea clothes is simple. I hope you enjoy making them. Leanna

    1. Hi Michelle: I find the creative side of blogging so much fun. Getting inspiration from other bloggers, learning what the trends are. I love doing it. Thank you for commenting and I will see you next week at the #HomeMattersParty. Cheers Leanna

    1. Hi Lorelai: I thought that videos would be different than a long string of photos. The Peanut Brittle pie is one of my personal favorites as its different.

  2. Leanna first off a Happy New Year to you and your family. I love all of your projects each one is special and unique. But the ones that are closet to my heart are the faerie posts. They are just one of a kind and transport us to a special place. I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful talents this year.

    1. Hi Mary: Thank you for your comments on the faeries, they are a bit offside of my regular topics but I feel I have some ideas to share about them.

Happy New Year to you and your family and enjoy New York!

    1. Hi Emily: My grandmother made everything out of her garden. Beets are sweet and red so they really are delicious in the loaf. Don’t be concerned that your batter is pink, it doesn’t stay that way.

      Thank you for commenting. Leanna

  3. Love the videos Leanna! Little do you know you were tied and next in line for the most featured of the year on TADA for 2016. Your favorites are amazing. I love what you have done for the faerie inspiration. I make similar streamers for little expressive worship dancers. I thought I never did DIY, huh.

    1. Thank you so much for letting me know I did well on your link party. It builds confidence. You gave me an idea for a spring post. I can see much little munchkins running around their yard ribbons and flowers trailing behind them.

      Happy New Year Beautiful! Leanna
